Linux Server Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Linux Server Administrator to join our Data Center Operations team in Kochi. The role focuses on managing Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, and network services to ensure high availability and security for critical business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and optimise Linux servers.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls and security policies.
• Deploy, configure and maintain Proxmox VE virtualization environments, including VMs and containers.
• Monitor system performance, resource utilisation and availability.
• Perform regular backups, recovery testing and disaster‑recovery operations.
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot network services such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, routing and firewalls.
• Integrate CDN and DNS services for efficient content delivery.
• Conduct hardware diagnostics, coordinate upgrades and component replacements.
• Implement server hardening, patch management and security best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational guidelines.

Required profile

• 1+ years of hands‑on Linux server administration experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with onsite teams.
• Good communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Linux administration (file systems, user management, services, package management).
• Proxmox VE virtualization and container management.
• Shell scripting and basic automation.
• TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, routing, firewall concepts.
• PXE boot and network‑based OS deployment.
• CDN integration and DNS‑level traffic management.
• Backup, disaster recovery and system monitoring tools.
• Server hardening, vulnerability management, access control, authentication and log management.
