Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Counsel to support our business development activities, including mergers and acquisitions, dispute management and regulatory compliance. The role will work closely with internal teams and external counsel to mitigate legal risks and ensure smooth operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate due‑diligence for M&A transactions, liaising with target companies, external counsel and internal stakeholders; review documentation and maintain related MIS.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice on operational, excise and regulatory matters, and implement risk‑mitigation actions in collaboration with business units.
• Manage disputes by preparing responses to notices from third parties, statutory authorities and administrative bodies to protect business continuity and reputation.
• Lead anti‑trust and intellectual‑property matters, including periodic training and sensitisation programmes for employees.
• Conduct legal research on applicable laws, regulations and industry trends, and keep internal databases and global platforms up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• LL.B. or LL.M. from a recognised university.
• 1‑2 years of post‑qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Ability to work independently in a regulated environment and deliver results under limited supervision.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, competition law and intellectual‑property rights.
• Excellent drafting, research and communication abilities.
