Lead Software Engineer

About the role

Publicis Groupe's Platform Services business unit, which builds and manages custom and PeopleCloud solutions, is hiring a Lead Software Engineer in Bengaluru. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, guiding the team across business analysis, development, testing, data, automation and support, and taking responsibility for the quality of delivered solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership, coaching and mentoring, break work into packages, remove blockers and guide estimation, planning, reviews and production stabilisation.
• Build RAG, embeddings/vector search, prompt management, tool calling, agent orchestration and human-in-the-loop workflows with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Amazon Bedrock, Azure AI, Amazon Q, Kiro, Microsoft Copilot or equivalents.
• Architect and deliver web, API, integration, batch and data-enabled solutions in C#.NET, Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, and lead responsive front-end and middleware services.
• Define engineering standards for modularity, security, observability, resilience, performance, accessibility and technical debt, and stay hands-on on prototypes, code reviews and performance tuning.
• Clarify requirements with clients and partners, turn them into detailed designs, run design workshops and evaluate options against scalability, reliability, security and cost.
• Design relational data models, batch and real-time data processing, ETL/ELT and integrations, using SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Redshift, SnapLogic or DataHub.
• Own the quality strategy: unit, integration, API, UI, regression, data, performance and resilience testing, with automation using NUnit, Playwright, Selenium, Postman or ReadyAPI.
• Improve engineering processes, use automation and low-code tools such as n8n, and take end-to-end ownership from discovery to production stability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years of technical leadership in customer-facing, full-stack roles.
• Experience leading delivery on complex, large-scale programs and acting as both developer and lead on multiple implementations.
• Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, communicate with clients and senior partners, and solve complex software and data problems.

Required skills

• Advanced C#/.NET, with working proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Object-oriented design, design patterns and clean-code practices.
