Lead Buyer – Techno‑Commercial

About the role

The Lead Buyer – Techno‑Commercial is responsible for shaping and executing procurement strategies that align with the company's technical and commercial objectives. This senior position bridges engineering, supply chain, and commercial functions to ensure cost‑effective sourcing and strong vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement site‑specific techno‑commercial procurement strategies.
• Review purchase requisitions, determine appropriate procurement methods, and ensure compliance with policies.
• Manage strategic sourcing for CAPEX, OPEX, bulk materials and services, including RFI/RFP preparation and vendor selection.
• Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations, negotiate contracts, and run e‑auctions for cost optimisation.
• Draft, issue and maintain contracts in SAP/ERP, coordinate vendor documentation, and issue purchase orders.
• Monitor deliveries, resolve supply issues, process amendments, and manage logistics.
• Onboard new suppliers, maintain vendor databases, and develop strategic supplier relationships.
• Assess supplier performance, create scorecards, and drive improvement initiatives.
• Analyse procurement data, support spend and commodity analysis, and generate management reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant certifications in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or SAP are a plus.
