About the role

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) is hiring 203 Junior Technician Trainees (Electrician) for its nationwide power transmission network. The trainees will undergo a structured on‑the‑job training program and support the maintenance and operation of electrical assets across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior electricians in installation, testing and maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Perform routine inspections, fault diagnosis and corrective actions on power grid components.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Support emergency response activities as required.

Required profile

• ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade.
• Age not exceeding 27 years as of 12/12/2023.
• General, OBC, EWS candidates: application fee INR 200; SC/ST/Ex‑servicemen: fee exempt.
• Candidates holding a BE/B.Tech/Diploma are not eligible.
• Indian citizenship.

Required skills

• Basic electrical wiring and installation knowledge.
• Familiarity with testing and commissioning of electrical devices.
• Understanding of safety protocols for high‑voltage work.
