Junior Buyer

About the role

The Junior Buyer will support the procurement function by purchasing components, online orders, and raw materials. You will work closely with Project Management and the Procurement Team to provide quotes for medium‑large spot buys, material packages, and mill runs.

Key responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders in JD Edwards within 24‑48 hours of system alerts.
• Follow up with vendors for order acknowledgements and update lead‑times in the ERP system.
• Verify on‑time delivery and manage any push‑outs.
• Prepare and solicit RFQs, analyse quotations, and select the most competitive solution based on quality, delivery, and cost.
• Maintain the RM Tracker, set up labor cost data, and create supplier performance reviews.
• Develop and improve processes, systems, and reporting to increase procurement efficiency.
• Ensure all purchasing documentation is accurate and timely.
• Assist sales and project teams with quoting and estimating for large or specialty opportunities.

Required profile

• 2 years of relevant procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (advantageous).
• Understanding of supply‑chain configuration, MPS/MRP/ERP principles.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – advanced proficiency.
• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or other ERP systems (SAP, Infor LN).
