International Tax Analyst

About the role

The International Tax Analyst will join HP's Global Tax organization within the US Income Tax Compliance & Provision team, based in Bangalore. This highly visible position supports the analysis, reporting, and compliance of HP's US international tax structure and effective tax rate.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review US international tax compliance filings, including Forms 5471, 8991, 8992, 8993, 1118, and 8858.
• Perform earnings & profits calculations, Subpart F computations, foreign tax credit analysis, and allocation/apportionment of expenses.
• Conduct quarterly and annual international tax provision analysis, covering APB 23, ASC 740, basis studies, and books‑basis analysis.
• Lead and contribute to tax planning projects, estimated tax forecasts, and complex structural transaction analyses.
• Guide junior or co‑sourced staff on compliance, planning, and accounting initiatives.
• Research complex US tax regulations using tools such as Checkpoint or BNA and stay current on technical developments.
• Respond to tax authority notices and interact directly with tax agencies.
• Support process‑transformation initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration.

Required profile

• Strong background in US corporate tax compliance and provision, preferably with experience in international tax matters.
• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and corporate tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across functions.
• Preferred certifications: CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA), or MBA.
