Infection Control Nurse

About the role

The Infection Control Nurse will work on-site at KANISHK Surgical & Super Specialty Hospital, overseeing infection prevention and control across all departments. This full‑time position ensures compliance with NABH guidelines and national standards to protect patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct infection surveillance and track hospital‑acquired infections.
• Audit hand‑hygiene practices and aseptic techniques.
• Review and monitor sterilization and disinfection processes.
• Develop, update, and implement infection control policies.
• Prepare detailed reports for hospital committees.
• Provide regular training and education to clinical and non‑clinical staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during outbreaks and support root‑cause analyses.
• Ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities.

Required profile

• Recognized nursing qualification (e.g., B.Sc. Nursing, GNM) with valid registration.
• Strong foundation in nursing and medicine applied to infection prevention.
• Demonstrated expertise in infection control and surveillance.
• Knowledge of infectious diseases, transmission routes, antimicrobial stewardship, and outbreak management.
• Experience in a hospital or acute‑care setting, preferably in infection control, critical care, or quality and patient safety.
• Ability to conduct audits, analyze infection‑related data, and present findings.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and adherence to ethical standards.
