In-House Legal Counsel (Corporate Law)

About the role

Zensar Technologies is seeking a commercially‑focused In‑House Legal Counsel to join its growing legal team in India. The role will support the company’s technology and business operations by providing pragmatic legal advice and managing a wide range of commercial agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage commercial contracts such as MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, SaaS licensing, partnership, data processing, vendor and consulting agreements.
• Provide timely legal guidance on contractual, commercial, operational and compliance matters.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks while enabling business objectives.
• Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Delivery, HR, Finance, Information Security and senior leadership.
• Support privacy, data‑protection and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and standard legal processes.
• Oversee contract lifecycle activities and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Assist in dispute resolution, handling legal notices, claims and escalations as needed.

Required profile

• LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university.
• 3–8 years of post‑qualification experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Strong experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Excellent understanding of contract law and commercial legal principles.
• Effective communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Experience with IT services, technology, SaaS or software contracting (preferred).
• Knowledge of data privacy and data‑protection regulations (preferred).
• Familiarity with global contracting frameworks and cross‑border transactions (preferred).
