Hydraulics Engineer – Water & Environment

About the role

We are looking for a technically competent and motivated Hydraulic/Hydropower Engineer with 3–6 years of experience in hydraulic design, analysis and review of hydropower and water‑resources projects. The role involves conceptualisation, hydraulic analysis, design, modelling, review and optimisation of hydraulic structures and systems associated with dams, hydropower plants and water‑conveyance networks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic design and analysis for dams, spillways, penstocks, intake structures, tunnels and related water‑resources facilities.
• Develop, run and interpret 1D/2D hydraulic models using HEC‑RAS and conduct transient analyses with Bentley HAMMER/WHAMO.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations, layout drawings and technical documentation, ensuring constructability and compliance with project constraints.
• Review hydraulic designs, verify consistency with drawings, design criteria and model results, and provide clear comments for resolution.
• Collaborate with structural, geotechnical, hydrological and other discipline teams to integrate hydraulic solutions into overall project designs.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of professional experience in hydraulic or hydropower engineering.
• Strong understanding of fundamental hydraulic principles and ability to work independently on assigned components.
• Proficiency in interpreting design requirements, project constraints and applying relevant codes and standards.

Required skills

• Hydraulic design and calculation of dams, spillways, penstocks, and related structures.
• 1D/2D hydraulic modelling with HEC‑RAS.
• Transient hydraulic analysis using Bentley HAMMER or WHAMO.
• Preparation of technical reports, calculation notes and design drawings.
