HR Generalist – Shared Services (North America & LATAM)

About the role

The HR Generalist – Shared Services will own end‑to‑end HR operations for employees in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Colombia. Based in Pune, you will partner with Talent Acquisition, IT, Payroll and external vendors to ensure a smooth employee lifecycle in a fast‑paced shared services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage onboarding from offer validation to system entry, coordinating with TA, IT and payroll while meeting country‑specific compliance (I‑9, local labor rules).
• Initiate and track background verification, review reports, and handle exceptions in line with data‑privacy regulations.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS (Oracle, Workday, SAP) and process promotions, transfers, compensation changes and personal data updates.
• Collaborate with payroll teams to provide correct inputs for new hires, exits and changes; support benefits queries and ensure compliance.
• Serve as first point of contact for HR queries via ticketing system, meeting SLA targets and maintaining high satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws across US, Mexico, Canada and Colombia, keep audit‑ready documentation and protect data privacy.
• Oversee off‑boarding, including resignation validation, clearance, final settlement and exit interviews.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in HR operations or shared services.
• MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent qualification.
• Basic knowledge of North America and LATAM labour regulations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
