Head of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

About the role

We are hiring a hands‑on engineering leader to head the Infrastructure and Security domain, ensuring our platform scales and supports product development across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow DevOps and SRE teams across Las Vegas and Bengaluru, building self‑sustaining pods with clear on‑call ownership.
• Own SLAs and end‑to‑end incident response, driving down MTTR and serving as escalation owner for P0/P1 events.
• Conduct infrastructure architecture reviews with product engineering, establishing lightweight processes that accelerate delivery.
• Manage the Infra Opex budget, delivering $250k+ annual cloud‑spend savings through right‑sizing, reserved capacity and migration initiatives.
• Own the CI/CD platform, developer tooling and deployment pipeline reliability to improve mean time to deploy.
• Partner with Legal and Finance on SOX and PCI‑DSS compliance, translating regulatory requirements into security controls.
• Provide technical mentorship, fostering a culture of operational rigor, blameless post‑mortems and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 15+ years of infrastructure engineering experience at scale, with 5+ years running Kubernetes workloads in production (EKS preferred).
• Proven track record of building or overhauling observability stacks and leading reliability initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Experience managing cloud‑spend budgets and delivering cost‑optimisation results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and ability to influence senior leadership.

• Kubernetes at scale (service mesh, Istio, cluster lifecycle)
• Observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Jaeger/X‑Ray, log aggregation)
• CI/CD platforms (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions)
• Distributed systems fundamentals (SLO design, capacity planning, failure mode analysis)
• Security and compliance (PCI‑DSS, SOX, application security architecture)
