Head of Legal (Real Estate & Corporate)

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced, strategic, and detail‑oriented Head of Legal to lead our corporate legal function. The role reports directly to the executive team and is responsible for safeguarding the company’s interests across all real estate transactions, developments, and corporate operations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate term sheets, Letters of Intent, and Memorandums of Understanding.
• Structure and finalize definitive agreements such as Joint Development Agreements, Sale Deeds, Lease Deeds, Concession Agreements and Shareholder Agreements.
• Oversee legal due diligence and title searches for land and property acquisitions, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with municipal laws, zoning regulations, environmental statutes and real‑estate regulatory authorities (e.g., RERA).
• Manage corporate governance, secretarial compliance and board‑level legal matters.
• Handle consumer, civil and labour disputes, representing the company or managing external counsel in courts, tribunals and arbitration.
• Lead, mentor and expand an in‑house legal team while managing relationships and budgets with external law firms.

Required profile

• LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university and enrollment with the Bar Council of India.
• 10–15+ years of post‑qualification experience in real‑estate/property law.
• Proven track record handling large‑scale, multi‑state real‑estate projects.
• Strong knowledge of property laws, land acquisition, municipal bylaws and RERA/regional real‑estate acts.
• Prior experience with a reputed law firm, large real‑estate developer or infrastructure company.
