About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Head Chef to lead the kitchen of Sorano’s new premium Italian restaurant in Mumbai. This is a hands‑on leadership position that combines creative menu development with rigorous kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the opening kitchen for Sorano Mumbai and ensure a smooth launch.
• Design, execute, and continuously evolve a high‑quality Italian‑focused menu.
• Maintain consistency, plating standards, hygiene, and service excellence.
• Collaborate with the Group Culinary Director and founders on product development, training, and guest feedback.
• Recruit, train, and manage a strong kitchen team.
• Control food cost, manage wastage, create recipe cards, and oversee ordering and kitchen systems.
• Balance modern culinary thinking with comfort, generosity, and flavor.
• Perform under high‑pressure service without compromising order.

Required profile

• Proven experience in premium Italian or modern European kitchens.
• Track record of successful restaurant openings or high‑volume service.
• Ability to lead a team with discipline, calmness, and ownership.
• Strong understanding of food cost, waste control, and kitchen logistics.
