Functional Tester – Banking Domain (L3)

About the role

The role involves functional testing within the banking domain, covering both manual and automated test activities across the software development and testing life cycles. You will collaborate with business analysts, developers, and agile squads to ensure high‑quality delivery of banking applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop test plans, strategies, test cases, and test completion reports; manage test data for reproducible results.
• Execute manual functional, integration, end‑to‑end, and performance test scenarios; report defects and contribute to root‑cause analysis.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, provide status updates to test leads, and coordinate with upstream/downstream teams for test data and support.
• Maintain and enhance automation scripts where applicable; work with HP ALM Octane and related testing tools.

Required profile

• 5–12 years of software testing experience in the banking domain, with strong knowledge of back‑office processes, securities, derivatives, and wealth management.
• Hands‑on experience in manual functional testing, integration testing with stubs/drivers, and performance testing.
• Proven ability to create high‑quality test scenarios, estimate testing effort, and manage test data.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, agile environment.

Required skills

• HP ALM Octane (or Quality Center) and JIRA for test management.
• Manual functional testing techniques and test case design.
• Integration and end‑to‑end testing, including use of stubs and drivers.
• Performance testing execution and analysis.
• Automation script development and maintenance (knowledge of frameworks is a plus).
• Agile/Scrum methodology participation.
