Full Stack Engineer

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Full Stack Engineer in Pune, India, within its Global Payment Services business area. The engineer will drive the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines, building and managing robust, scalable and secure infrastructure that delivers digital solutions. The role is based in the Pune campus, the largest outside Barclays' London headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software that provides business, platform and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues.
• Deliver high-quality software using industry-aligned languages, frameworks and tools, keeping code scalable, maintainable and performance-optimized.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define requirements, devise solution strategies and integrate with business objectives.
• Take part in code reviews, share knowledge and stay informed of technology trends.
• Follow secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in Agile delivery teams within Banking or Financial Services.
• Experience with containerized application development and deployment, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, SonarQube, Wiz, Prisma, Maven/Gradle and DevSecOps.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, Kafka or similar event-driven platforms.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications to microservices-based architectures is highly valued.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate and TDD.
• ReactJS, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5 and modern front-end frameworks.
• Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL and NoSQL databases.
• OpenShift/Kubernetes, GitLab, SonarQube, Wiz, Prisma, Maven/Gradle, IBM MQ, Kafka.
• Highly valued: Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, domain knowledge of payments or transaction banking, secure coding, DDD and event-driven architecture.
