Front & Rear ARB CAD Design Engineer

About the role

The role focuses on CAD design and detailing of front and rear anti‑roll bar (ARB) components for passenger cars. The engineer will create 3D models and 2D drawings, manage packaging and interfaces, and support part release and issue resolution in collaboration with system leads and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in CATIA, applying GD&T and drawing standards.
• Design packaging and interfaces, ensuring clearances, motion envelopes, serviceability and assembly feasibility.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles, select appropriate materials and processes (sheet metal, cast/forged, plastics, weldments).
• Support tolerance stack‑ups, provide DFMEA inputs and ensure design robustness.
• Release parts through PLM, manage ECR/ECO and configuration control.
• Coordinate CAD data exchange with suppliers, conduct drawing reviews and close prototype/build issues.
• Develop CAD and drawings for ARB brackets, bushing housings, links and fastener interfaces.
• Ensure packaging and clearance across full jounce, rebound and steer while maintaining serviceability.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of hands‑on CAD design experience in automotive components or systems.
• Proven ability to work in a structured product development environment (PDP/APQP/PPAP).
• Strong cross‑functional communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• CATIA V5/V6 (part design, assembly, drafting).
• GD&T and tolerance stack‑up methods.
• PLM tools such as Teamcenter or ENOVIA.
• DFMEA, DFM and DFA methodologies.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for sheet metal, casting, forging, plastics and weldments.
• Issue tracking and change management tools.
