Floor Engineer – Heavy Steel Fabrication

About the role

The Floor Engineer will lead daily shop‑floor fabrication activities for heavy steel structures such as bridges, gantries, and PEB sheds. You will ensure that production targets, quality standards, and safety procedures are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily fabrication work on the shop floor.
• Verify that all work follows approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Coordinate with design, planning, stores, and quality teams to keep production flowing smoothly.
• Monitor manpower utilization, machine performance, and material consumption.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the fabrication process.
• Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
• Track production progress and submit daily reports to management.
• Identify production issues and work with relevant departments for timely resolution.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and discipline in the assigned area.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in steel fabrication, shop‑floor production, or heavy structural fabrication.
• Knowledge of fabrication drawings and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of welding, cutting, fitting, and assembly processes.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with quality standards and industrial safety practices.
