Fire Services Engineer

About the role

The Fire Services Engineer is responsible for administering fire station operations and ensuring the availability and operability of fire safety equipment and vehicles. The role focuses on controlling and mitigating fire incidents in line with established policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and follow fire safety policies, processes, SOPs, and maintenance programs.
• Investigate fire incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
• Support plant‑level fire safety audits and apply measures to close identified gaps.
• Maintain and update risk assessment documentation to ensure adequate fire prevention.
• Organise and conduct daily fire drills to test emergency response.
• Identify potential hazards, apply appropriate firefighting strategies, and respond to emergency calls with incident command.
• Operate firefighting equipment, coordinate with emergency responders, and manage communication systems.
• Develop training modules and deliver fire awareness training to staff.
• Ensure readiness of all firefighting assets, vehicles and communication tools.
• Record non‑compliance cases, implement corrective actions, and maintain shift logs and occurrence books.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline, or a Diploma with a Station Officer or Sub‑Officer course.
• Proven proficiency in fire safety management applications and firefighting equipment handling.
• Experience with SAP systems is desirable.
