Financial Reporting Analyst (GB/G)

About the role

BASF is hiring a Financial Reporting Analyst (GB/G) in Hyderabad, India, to run a set of controls that mitigate financial and operational risks. The role partners with business-oriented teams on continuous improvement, error management and best practices for the portfolio they manage. It is part of BASF's new Global Hub in India, a flagship transformation initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily spot-check controls so that invoice postings are 100% accurate, and detect and prevent duplicate and erroneous postings before Accounts Payable proposals are executed.
• Analyse and reconcile Vendor Overdue items in scope of the function, and analyse the 4Eye principle, sample checks and CRM for direct, indirect and North American procurement to control PO changes made by procurement.
• Support the audit lead on the external year-end audit and internal audits.
• Develop tactics to help business-oriented teams improve posting quality and mitigate financial risk, and act as controller of the clearing of vendor open items by those teams.
• Facilitate communication between business teams and the function, promote process improvement focused on controls and operational excellence, and collaborate on continuous improvement projects.
• Execute credit recovery from vendors for the assigned portfolio.

Required profile

• Degree in business administration, accounting or finance.
• 3-5 years of experience in finance or audit and compliance functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced global environment, with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.

Required skills

• SAP R/3 or SAP HANA / MS Office (advanced).
• Lean Six Sigma methodology and Power BI are valued.
