GB/G CCPA & Cost Charging Specialist

About the role

BASF is hiring a Senior Cost Center, Profitability Accounting Specialist in India (Hyderabad) to support business units in preparing company income statements, focusing on cost center allocations, variance explanations and monthly EBIT analysis. The role works with a high degree of autonomy and also supports non-trade activities, process improvements, business-transformation initiatives and global communities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly activities for Cost Center Accounting, Income Statement, Profitability Accounting and Non-Trade processes for BASF group companies and businesses in the Americas
• Distribute expenses across cost objects each month and generate monthly income statements
• Keep information consistent between financial and management accounting modules
• Analyze variances against prior periods and support monthly EBIT reporting and explanations
• Take part in merger, acquisition and divestiture projects
• Support the subject-area lead and global communities, and improve processes through automation
• Support audits, internal controls, reconciliations and process-efficiency initiatives
• Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues

Required profile

• Professional qualification in Finance (e.g. B.Com, CA, CMA) or MBA/master's in finance, accounting or a related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, business reporting or a related field
• Strong understanding of cost center accounting, expense allocations, income-statement reporting, profitability analysis and month-end activities
• Ability to make timely decisions autonomously; no formal leadership position required
• Project experience preferred; experience in a shared services, multinational or GCC environment preferred

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced Excel
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Fluent English
• Experience with process improvement, automation or new technologies is an advantage
