Financial Controller – FX & Equity Derivatives

About the role

UBS is seeking a Financial Controller to join its FX, Equity Derivatives, Cash Equities and SLF teams in Pune. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate daily P&L and balance‑sheet reporting for trading desks and supporting global product‑control activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and govern accounting controls for a range of financial products.
• Compile, analyse and reconcile financial data for FX, equity derivatives, cash equities and SLF products.
• Review daily P&L and balance‑sheet controls, resolve issues and escalate when necessary.
• Reconcile trade‑capture system feeds to the general ledger and manage journal entries.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Support month‑end close, trial‑balance substantiation and continuous improvement of control processes.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests and participate in testing activities.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, Master’s degree or equivalent in accounting or a related field.
• Prior experience in product control, financial reporting and reconciliation within a trading environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
• Digital curiosity and willingness to apply AI and automation tools in a business context.
