Finance and Business Support Manager

About the role

The Finance & Business Support Manager oversees the hotel’s daily financial operations, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management. The role partners with the General Manager and department heads to drive profitability, protect assets and support sound commercial decisions in line with IHG standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee day‑to‑day financial activities, ensuring accurate accounting and timely completion of daily, monthly and year‑end tasks.
• Lead, coach and empower the Finance team to deliver responsibilities effectively.
• Maintain cash flow, working capital and overall financial health of the hotel while safeguarding assets.
• Ensure guest billing, city ledger and revenue transactions are accurate, reconciled and properly reported.
• Prepare and support annual budgets, business plans and monthly forecasts; analyse performance versus budget and highlight variances.
• Identify revenue‑enhancement and cost‑optimisation opportunities and provide financial input to pricing and commercial strategies.
• Monitor departmental costs, purchasing, inventory and capital expenditures; conduct stock and asset verification.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely supplier payments, accurate invoicing and effective credit control.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing day‑to‑day financial operations in a hotel environment.
• Ability to lead, coach and empower a finance team.
• Strong partnership skills with General Manager and department heads.
• Familiarity with IHG standards and hospitality‑industry financial policies.
