Field Service Engineer - HV

About the role

Exponent Energy is hiring a Field Service Engineer (HV) in Bengaluru, reporting to the Service Manager - HV and joining the HV Bus After Sales / Service team. You will ensure smooth ground operations for Exponent's after-sales support across the EV bus fleet, helping customers get a seamless, hassle-free experience with 15-minute rapid charging.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely on-site (or remote, where possible) field support to EV bus fleet customers facing vehicle issues, keeping the fleet on the road
• Lead and manage a distributed team of Bus Field Technicians across multiple locations, assigning tasks, training them, monitoring performance and maintaining service quality
• Collaborate with internal teams (PQ, supply chain, customer support) to coordinate spare parts, schedule services, manage upgrades or retrofits and streamline service workflows
• Oversee periodic maintenance schedules and service campaigns, ensuring they are completed on time
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults on high-voltage buses, including battery and motor systems
• Collect structured feedback from the field and share it with engineering and product teams
• Maintain accurate service records and interface professionally with fleet operators and customers
• Coordinate with external vendors for spares, logistics and on-ground support, and be ready to travel frequently to depots and customer sites

Required profile

• Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Automobile, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 5-8 years of experience in after-sales operations and customer support (EV, commercial vehicle or bus experience preferred)
• Proven experience leading distributed field technician teams across multiple locations
• Market knowledge of EVs, buses and charging station deployment, and fleet logistics
• Cross-functional experience in service or technical roles is a bonus
