FEA Engineer – Product Engineering (Pumps)

About the role

Metso is seeking an FEA Engineer to join its Product Engineering team for pumps in Alwar, Rajasthan. The engineer will use advanced finite element methods to ensure the structural integrity, dynamic performance and lifting safety of pump components and assemblies, supporting product development through simulation‑driven optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural and pressure analysis of pump components and assemblies, including inlet liners, inlet doors and bolted joints.
• Evaluate strength, stiffness and deformation characteristics under operational and loading conditions.
• Validate the structural integrity of lifting features such as lifting lugs and support structures for safe handling, transportation and installation.
• Assess anti‑tipping behaviour and overall stability of pump assemblies during handling and operation.
• Conduct lifting analyses using 3‑point and 4‑point configurations for bare shafts or pumps with various motor arrangements.
• Validate lifting and handling requirements for critical components including impellers, backliners, bearing assemblies and bare shaft systems.
• Perform vibration analysis of complete pump assemblies across different motor configurations.
• Carry out rotor‑dynamic analyses, evaluating critical speeds, natural frequencies and potential resonance conditions.
• Collaborate with global RTD engineering, marketing, sales and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with design, safety and performance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience performing finite element analysis on mechanical components, preferably in the pump or rotating equipment sector.
• Ability to interpret analysis results and translate them into design recommendations.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
