Executive Fire Safety & Security Manager

About the role

The Executive Fire Safety & Security Manager leads the development, implementation, and oversight of fire safety and security programs for a commercial or IT‑focused environment. This senior position ensures compliance with fire codes, NFPA standards, and security regulations while coordinating emergency response and business continuity efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fire safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
• Conduct regular fire risk assessments, safety audits, and security vulnerability analyses.
• Oversee fire prevention programs, including inspection and maintenance of suppression systems, alarms, emergency lighting, and exit routes.
• Design and implement comprehensive security programs covering access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and visitor management.
• Manage security personnel – hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Coordinate fire drills, emergency evacuations, and crisis management during incidents.
• Maintain relationships with local fire departments, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
• Prepare detailed reports for senior management, insurers, and regulatory agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Security Management, Emergency Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in fire safety and/or security management, preferably in commercial or IT environments.
• Professional certifications such as CFPS, PSP, or CPP are preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with fire safety management software systems.
• Proficiency with security management software systems.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure security requirements and data‑center operations.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
