Engineering Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Engineering Technician supports the Engineering department of a Hilton hotel, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems operate safely and efficiently for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all staff rules, regulations and management directives.
• Ensure safe operation of daily power, water, gas, heating and cooling equipment.
• Inspect equipment operation records and shift handover logs accurately.
• Maintain and service all assigned equipment and facilities, prioritising energy savings.
• Support banquet and meeting equipment maintenance to guarantee functionality.
• Test and run generators regularly to provide backup power during outages.
• Supervise fire‑prevention works and enforce compliance with safety standards.
• Train and supervise technicians and apprentices, managing tool usage and recommending disciplinary actions when needed.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Familiarity with operation principles and fault diagnosis of hotel equipment.
• Ability to follow management directives and maintain strict safety standards.
• Strong attention to energy efficiency and record‑keeping.
• Leadership skills to supervise, train and develop junior staff.
