Energy Regulatory Attorney (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Attorney to provide specialized legal counsel on federal and state energy regulations. This remote contract position supports a leading global entity in the energy sector, focusing on compliance, regulatory filings, and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with FERC, state public utility commissions, and environmental standards.
• Draft and file petitions, motions, and other regulatory documents for energy‑related proceedings.
• Analyze proposed tariffs, rate cases, and regulatory proposals to assess legal risks.
• Represent the client in meetings with regulators, industry groups, and stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide timely updates to leadership.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction, preferably with energy regulatory experience.
• Proven experience in energy law, including familiarity with FERC regulations and state utility law.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities to interpret complex regulatory frameworks.

• Experience with regulatory proceedings and policy advocacy.
