Electrician – Level 1 (Industrial Rotating Equipment)

About the role

The successful candidate will join an energetic, collaborative team at Honeywell Sundyne’s plant in Pune, India. As an E&I Technician specializing in industrial rotating equipment, you will be responsible for installing, wiring, testing and commissioning electrical and instrumentation systems for heavy centrifugal compressors and pumps.

Key responsibilities

• Execute cable pulling, routing and sizing according to plant cable schedules.
• Read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and single‑line diagrams to locate instruments and define wiring routes.
• Wire control panels, junction boxes and switchgear using schematic drawings, termination charts and loop sheets.
• Install, modify and route HT/LT cable trays, conduits and support structures.
• Prepare, cut, glaze and terminate armored power cables and multi‑core control/signal cables, including hydraulic crimping of heavy lugs.
• Perform continuity checks, Hi‑Pot safety testing and other quality validations on power cables.
• Route, terminate and secure shielded instrument cables for sensors, transmitters and control valves.
• Conduct cold and hot loop checks (4‑20 mA, HART, Modbus) and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow and vibration sensors.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in Electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an industrial electrician on large rotating machinery.
• Strong ability to read SLDs, P&IDs, cable schedules and instrument data sheets.
• Proficiency with Megger testers, Hi‑Pot test kits, hydraulic crimpers, cable cutters and loop calibrators (e.g., Fluke).
• Valid industrial electrical license and HT/LT supervisor/work licence; LOTO and ATEX/IECEx training highly desired.
