Electrical Supervisor (Site Maintenance Electrician)

About the role

The Electrical Supervisor will independently manage the low‑tension (LT) electrical installation at a single site, performing hands‑on work while also acting as the competent person in charge. Reporting administratively and functionally to the Admin Manager, the role ensures reliable power supply and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect and troubleshoot the 415 V, 3‑phase, 4‑wire LT distribution system, including switchgear (SFU/MCCB), distribution boards, busbars and changeover switches.
• Monitor APFC/capacitor panels, energy meters and phase‑wise load balancing; report abnormal loading and power‑factor deviations.
• Conduct scheduled thermographic inspections of panels, joints and terminations, log hotspots and drive corrective actions.
• Supervise MHE battery charging bays, ensuring charger condition, cable integrity, ventilation and adherence to charging windows.
• Maintain uninterrupted power to fire‑safety‑critical systems such as fire alarm panels, pump starters, emergency lighting and exit signage.
• Operate and maintain DG sets and UPS systems, performing load tests, battery health checks and record‑keeping.
• Carry out earth pit watering, continuity checks and periodic earth resistance testing per IS 3043.
• Enforce lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, issue electrical work permits for contractors, and keep the site electrical register up to date.
• Close observations from third‑party audits, insurer inspections and fire safety audits, and escalate critical issues to senior management.

Required profile

• Valid Electrical Supervisor Certificate of Competency issued by the State Electrical Licensing Board for the posting state.
• Ability to work as the sole electrical professional on site, combining supervisory authority with hands‑on execution.
