Electrical Integration Engineer - EV Energy Products

About the role

Exponent Energy, co-founded by former Ather Energy executives, builds the e-pack (battery pack) and e-pump (charging station) behind its Flexible Energy Stack, which enables 15-minute rapid charging. It is seeking a hands-on Electrical Integration Engineer to lead the design, integration and validation of high-voltage electrical systems across its EV energy products, from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and coordinate multi-stage electrical protection schemes for HV and LV systems, size protection devices, switchgear and cables, and own insulation coordination (creepage and clearance)
• Design earthing and grounding architectures and ensure compliance with IS, IEC, ISO, SAE, CSA, NFPA, CEA, NEC and NBC standards
• Integrate power electronics hardware (converters, inverters, sensors, actuators) and review schematics, PCBA designs and component ratings
• Lead hardware-firmware integration and protocol-level debugging, support EMI/EMC testing and harness design
• Debug CAN, UART, MODBUS and SPI protocols and work with MCU peripherals such as ADC configuration
• Perform thermal and fluid flow calculations, define packaging, separation, filters and ingress protection, and interface with chillers and HVAC systems
• Own DFMEA and drive mitigation actions, lead root cause analysis of electro-mechanical failures, and support reliability testing and modelling

Required profile

• Experience across 2+ full product development cycles in electrical protection and insulation coordination, EV powertrain or >500V battery architecture, or power electronics converter design
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering
• Proven experience driving DFMEA and reliability validation
• Preferred: first-principles thinking, comfort working across electrical, firmware and mechanical teams, and a bias for ownership in a fast-paced startup environment
