Director of Supply Chain – Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

The Director of Supply Chain – Equipment will own the end‑to‑end procurement strategy for semiconductor process and metrology equipment at a new greenfield fab. You will ensure slot reservations, factory installations, spares readiness and service level agreements are in place to meet tool move‑in, qualification and ramp milestones on‑time, on‑budget and in compliance with trade and tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs and equipment suppliers.
• Build a phase‑wise equipment procurement master plan aligned to construction, cleanroom and AMHS readiness.
• Define category strategies, total cost of ownership models and should‑cost analyses for high‑value modules.
• Run RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, evaluate technical‑commercial bids and negotiate pricing, delivery slots, acceptance criteria (FAT/SAT/ESD) and performance guarantees.
• Close Master Purchase Agreements and Global Frame Agreements, including software rights, cybersecurity clauses and field service SLAs.
• Maintain long‑lead item and slot trackers, aligning to L3/L4 schedules for move‑in, hook‑up, qualification and process release.
• Coordinate export control pathways and India trade architecture with logistics and customs teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience owning end‑to‑end procurement for semiconductor equipment or similar high‑tech manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of trade, customs and export control regulations applicable to India.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic OEM partnerships and manage large‑scale contracts.

Required skills

• RFI/RFP/RFQ process management
• TCO modeling (capex, install, consumables, service, uptime impact)
• Negotiation of pricing, delivery slots and performance guarantees (MTBF, MTTR)
• Export control and customs compliance
• Semiconductor equipment specifications (vacuum/pumps, RF power, optics)
• FAT/SAT/ESD acceptance criteria definition
