Director - Engineering

About the role

The Director of Engineering leads the engineering organization’s strategy, execution, and continuous improvement for a market‑leading SaaS platform. This senior role is responsible for defining technical direction, building high‑performing teams, and ensuring that software initiatives align with business goals and customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an engineering strategy that aligns technology investments with business outcomes.
• Build, lead, and scale engineering teams across development, architecture, quality, platform, and technical leadership.
• Drive end‑to‑end software delivery, from planning and architecture through development, testing, release, and production operations.
• Partner with Product, Design, Customer Success, Sales, Security, and Operations to translate priorities into an actionable roadmap.
• Establish and evolve architecture, technology standards, and engineering practices for scalable, secure, and maintainable products.
• Implement quality, security, and operational practices such as code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and incident management.
• Lead resource planning, prioritization, risk identification, and mitigation across teams and initiatives.
• Champion the use of AI, large language models, automation, and emerging technologies to improve product capabilities and developer productivity.
• Own engineering budget planning, headcount strategy, vendor evaluation, and cost optimization of cloud and technology investments.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large engineering organizations in a SaaS environment.
• Strong track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and secure software products.
• Ability to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing budgets, headcount, and vendor relationships.
