DevOps Engineer (Observability)

About the role

Join Teradata’s Site Reliability Engineering team as a DevOps Engineer focused on observability. You will be responsible for building and maintaining monitoring solutions that span all three major cloud providers, ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, configure, and support observability tooling (Grafana and equivalents) across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Define, deploy, and fine‑tune monitors, alerts, and dashboards to track infrastructure and application telemetry.
• Build concise dashboards for internal and external stakeholders, covering services, networks, databases, and cloud integrations.
• Collaborate with product engineering, cloud operations, security, and compliance teams to maintain observability in pre‑production and production environments.
• Continuously reduce mean‑time‑to‑discover and mean‑time‑to‑recover by improving tooling and processes.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience administering Grafana or a comparable observability platform.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), preferably all three.
• Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools, especially Terraform.
• Strong scripting abilities in Python.
• Familiarity with configuration management (Ansible or Puppet) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins or Bamboo).
• Experience with Git, Jira, and Linux‑based systems.
• Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases and their use cases.
