Design Manager – Architecture (Pharma/Life Sciences)

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Design Manager – Architecture to lead the architectural design of pharmaceutical and life‑science facilities. You will work closely with clients to translate their needs into concept layouts, master plans and detailed architectural solutions that meet cGMP and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with clients to capture requirements and present concept layout options.
• Develop architectural layout options, site master‑plan alternatives, narratives, flow diagrams and room data sheets.
• Integrate cGMP requirements into designs and support permitting, tender and specification preparation.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with client standards, engineering practices and project coordination procedures.
• Lead presentations to obtain client buy‑in for design options.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture recognised by the Council of Architecture.
• Minimum 16 years of relevant experience, including licensed architect status (AIA).
• Deep knowledge of layout development and process requirements for pharma/life‑science facilities (API, sterile, OSD, bio‑pharma, gene‑therapy, R&D labs).
• Familiarity with NBC and Indian statutory bodies (MIDC, KSIIC, HSIIDC, etc.).
• Ability to learn new facility types as client needs evolve.
