Deputy Manager – Payments & Merchant Acquiring

About the role

Bajaj Finance Ltd. is expanding its QR code acquiring business and is looking for a Deputy Manager to build and lead the operation in a defined territory. You will be responsible for hiring the team, driving QR, SB and POS/EDC deployments, and growing transaction volume and GMV.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate a Field Operations Sales (FOS) team.
• Manage FOS productivity and performance metrics.
• Acquire new merchants and drive QR code, SB and POS/EDC deployments.
• Develop distribution channels and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers.
• Ensure proper coverage through FOS mapping and channel management.
• Track sales numbers, retailer payment reconciliation and store activation.
• Collaborate with partners on sales promotions and ensure process rigor and controllership.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of experience in payments, FMCG or telecom prepaid sales.
• Prior exposure to merchant acquisition and distribution handling is mandatory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage merchant relationships directly.
• High energy, self‑starter attitude and willingness to work in the field.
