Deployment Strategist

About the role

The Deployment Strategist joins Databricks’ Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team to act as the product manager for customers’ high‑value AI initiatives. You will bridge multi‑million‑dollar business problems with Databricks technical solutions, guiding engagements from discovery through production launch.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with sales to perform deep C‑suite discovery, map organizational landscape, and define pilot MVP, success criteria, and timeline for $10M+ problems.
• Author product requirement documents, prioritize engineering backlog, and act as primary QA tester to translate business needs into data, integration, security, and operational specifications.
• Lead the FDE build team through agile delivery, manage stakeholders from executives to engineers, and resolve technical or organizational blockers.
• Own Day 0 launch, run the war‑room, drive solution adoption, and ensure production readiness across data quality, testing, security, performance, and operations.
• Define maintenance plans, create documentation and training, and identify follow‑on high‑value engagements.

Required profile

• Strong executive presence and communication skills to build trust with senior stakeholders.
• Proven product judgment, able to define what to build, write clear PRDs, prioritize work, and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Deep technical fluency in modern data and AI architectures, cloud platforms, and generative AI patterns, with the ability to evaluate trade‑offs.
• Hands‑on ability in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or SQL) to explore data, review code, and prototype solutions.
• 7+ years delivering complex, customer‑facing data, analytics, AI, or software engagements, preferably in a high‑growth tech or consulting environment.
