Deli Bakery Clerk – New Store Opening

About the role

We are opening a brand‑new Meijer store in Plymouth, MI, and are looking for enthusiastic Deli/Bakery Clerks to join our team. In this role you will help deliver fresh, high‑quality products and friendly service to our customers, contributing to a great shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, build rapport and provide product knowledge.
• Answer customer questions promptly and courteously.
• Stock and arrange deli, bakery, meat, seafood and grocery items according to merchandising standards.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, following sanitation procedures.
• Use store technology (e.g., point‑of‑sale systems) to complete transactions and tasks.
• Assist with product displays and ensure freshness.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented and organized.
• Strong listening and communication skills, both face‑to‑face and virtual.
• Willingness to learn and use job‑specific technology.
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to follow procedures.
• Calm under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, twist and stand for long periods.
