Data Security Engineering Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Data Security Engineering Specialist to define, implement, and govern data protection capabilities across our multi‑cloud platform. You will work closely with platform engineering, data governance, and other teams to ensure a resilient data security posture that meets regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise data security standards covering DLP, classification, encryption, retention, and access governance.
• Collaborate with security architects and platform teams to enforce secure‑by‑default configurations.
• Maintain baselines for data protection tools across structured and unstructured data.
• Monitor compliance, report gaps, and recommend remediation strategies.
• Build metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to track compliance, maturity, and risk exposure.
• Drive innovation to stay ahead of evolving threats, regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and standards (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Perform security reviews and embed data protection principles into business and technical strategies.

Required profile

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, with at least 5 years focused on data security (DLP, data lifecycle governance, privacy engineering).
• Deep understanding of the data lifecycle and associated security controls.
• Experience with cloud‑native data services on AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
