About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Data Scientist to develop algorithmic modules and flows for semiconductor and display equipment. The role involves research, design, implementation, and integration of advanced algorithms in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop major algorithmic or Matlab modules, including research, design, implementation, and proliferation within project budgets and schedules.
• Perform algorithmic C&F, conduct problem analysis, data gathering, literature review, and concept evaluation.
• Document development, plan implementation, integration, and testing of algorithmic solutions.
• Interact with internal and external customers to analyze gaps, define activities, and support integration and testing.
• Act as a technical tutor, guide algorithm developers, and evaluate new and competitor technologies.

• Demonstrates depth and breadth of expertise in a specialized discipline.
• Leads functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
• Solves complex problems using sophisticated analytical thinking.
