Cyber Security Engineer – OT Systems

About the role

GE Vernova Grid Solutions is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement, and optimise cybersecurity measures for high‑voltage and renewable energy substations. You will work closely with project managers, OT engineers and the OT Engineering Cybersecurity Leader to protect critical operational technology (OT) assets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments for OT systems to identify security gaps.
• Design and deploy security controls such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, access controls and network segmentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed cybersecurity into OT design, deployment and maintenance.
• Perform penetration testing and remediate identified weaknesses.
• Provide technical guidance on OT security standards, policies and procedures.
• Work with third‑party vendors to evaluate and ensure their cybersecurity capabilities.
• Deliver security training and awareness programmes for OT operators and related personnel.

Required profile

• University degree in engineering, cyber security, computer science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project security or OT cybersecurity.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, results‑driven and able to work under pressure.
• Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Flexible working hours and ability to meet tight deadlines.
