Cost Engineer – Benchmarking & Product Cost Analysis

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies is seeking a Cost Engineering & Benchmarking professional to lead competitor product studies, cost estimation and teardown analysis for both greenfield and brownfield projects. The role combines technical product knowledge with cost‑engineering methods to support pricing, design‑to‑cost and negotiation activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct competitor product studies and detailed cost estimations for new and existing products (greenfield & brownfield).
• Perform teardown and technical analysis of manufacturing processes, design features, materials and assembly sequences.
• Develop and document product comparisons, cost‑engineering methods, and supplier interaction reports.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to validate cost models and suggest cost‑reduction opportunities.

Required profile

• B.E/B‑Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics or Production Engineering.
• 7‑12 years of experience in cost engineering, product cost estimation or related manufacturing analysis.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, GD&T, and product development cycles.

• Machining, Forging, Casting processes
• Tool design (molds, casting, press tools)
• GD&T and drawing interpretation
• Measurement techniques and cost‑structure analysis
• Microsoft Excel and presentation skills
• Knowledge of Gen‑AI and digitalisation tools (advantage)
