Corporate Counsel – Indian Employment & Corporate Law

About the role

FBS, the talent arm of Farmers Insurance, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to lead Indian corporate and labor law matters. You will work closely with HR, U.S.-based legal teams, and Indian regulators to ensure compliance and mitigate risk across a fast‑growing, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on Indian corporate, labor, and employment issues, including employee relations, social security, employment taxes, subcontracting, and investigations.
• Support interactions with Indian labor authorities and other regulators, handling inspections, audits, and administrative proceedings.
• Collaborate with U.S. and global legal teams on cross‑border policies, risk mitigation, and investigations.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks in India and develop training for business and HR partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney in employment, labor, corporate, or related fields.
• Experience as in‑house counsel or advising multinational clients, preferably within financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries.
• Proven ability to manage complex workplace investigations and advise senior leaders and HR professionals.
• Strong knowledge of Indian employment and corporate law and experience navigating highly matrixed environments.
