Community Mental Health Support Worker – Cowal & Bute

About the role

The Community Mental Health Support Worker will join the Cowal and Bute Community Mental Health Team, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with a range of mental health difficulties in a community setting. The role focuses on delivering safe, person‑centred care and helping service users achieve recovery goals while maintaining independence.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of individual care plans.
• Engage service users in therapeutic and recovery‑focused activities.
• Monitor wellbeing and report any changes to the multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with service users, carers, and partner agencies to ensure coordinated care.
• Work independently under the supervision of registered practitioners while contributing to team discussions.

Required profile

• Good interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, empathetic approach.
• Self‑motivated, organised, and able to respond flexibly to service needs.
• Commitment to partnership working and recovery‑focused practice.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Experience in mental health, health, or social care (desirable but not mandatory).
