Community Manager (VIP Community)

About the role

Front Row, Pocket FM's VIP community for its most engaged listeners, is scaling from a few hundred members to a multi‑thousand‑member experience. As Community Manager you will own the health, engagement, and growth of this curated community, ensuring members feel recognized, safe, and motivated to participate.

Key responsibilities

• Run day‑to‑day community operations: onboarding, welcome flows, channel structure, and active member interaction.
• Plan, host, and moderate live events such as trivia nights, AMAs, listen‑alongs, and creator Q&As.
• Develop and maintain an engagement calendar that prioritises participatory formats and exclusive content.
• Enforce community guidelines, moderate discussions, and ensure a safe environment.
• Lead the migration from Discord to a native in‑app chat experience without losing members.
• Gather member feedback and surface insights to product and monetisation teams.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience growing online communities, preferably in gaming, subscription, creator, or fandom spaces.
• Proven ability to scale a community from hundreds to thousands while maintaining high engagement.
• Willingness to work partially on US hours and strong cultural fluency with a US audience.
• Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude Cowork or Claude Code for community use cases.
• Enjoys live hosting, being on camera or mic, and building personal relationships with members.
• People‑first mindset: remembers names, details, and makes members feel known.
• Hands‑on experience with community platforms, especially Discord; familiarity with in‑app chat SDKs is a plus.
• Data‑driven: can pull, analyse, and report engagement metrics and link activity to business outcomes.
• Excellent written communication with a warm, on‑brand voice and sound judgement in sensitive situations.
• Interest in audio, storytelling, or interactive fiction.
