Commodity Manager / Strategic Sourcing Manager – Cables & Harness

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commodity Manager / Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead the global strategy for cable, wire, connector and harness commodities. The role will own end‑to‑end sourcing, supplier development and risk management across a capital‑equipment organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global strategy for cable, wire, connector, harness and sensor commodities.
• Build and manage a worldwide supplier ecosystem, including selection, qualification, development and consolidation.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate contracts and long‑term agreements, and drive cost‑optimisation programmes.
• Monitor supplier capacity, ensure continuity, implement dual‑sourcing and mitigate supply‑chain risks.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain on new‑product introductions and technical requirements.
• Conduct VAVE, should‑cost analysis, benchmarking and productivity improvement projects.
• Develop long‑term commodity road‑maps aligned with technology and business objectives.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert and strategic owner for the assigned commodities.

Required profile

• 12‑16 years of experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management.
• Deep expertise in cable, harness, wiring, connector or electromechanical commodities.
• Proven track record of managing global commodities and significant spend independently.
• Background in semiconductor equipment, electronics, aerospace, industrial automation, medical devices or other capital‑equipment sectors.
