About the role
PSG Jade in Coimbatore is looking for a dedicated Commis 1 to join its culinary team. The role supports the chefs in preparing dishes for guests, and is open to candidates with 0 to 3 years of kitchen experience.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and measure ingredients by chopping, cutting, marinating and portioning recipes according to kitchen standards.
- Assist in cooking and plating dishes using standard techniques to keep quality consistent.
- Help with inventory management, stock rotation and ingredient replenishment, and coordinate with the kitchen team so food is ready on time.
- Keep the kitchen clean and organised and store food properly to avoid spoilage and contamination.
- Follow senior chefs' instructions and look after kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Required profile
- Degree or certification in catering or a related field.
- Proven 0 to 3 years of kitchen experience.
- Attention to detail, cleanliness and time management.
- Strong teamwork, adaptability and willingness to learn.
