About the role
Rainforest Athirapally is seeking a motivated Commis 1 Chef to join its kitchen team. You will work in a luxury resort environment, preparing Kerala and Continental dishes while supporting senior chefs and maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.
Key responsibilities
- Independently prepare assigned dishes following standard recipes.
- Complete mise en place before service.
- Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Monitor ingredient quality and storage.
- Minimize food wastage and follow portion control.
- Guide and support junior kitchen staff.
- Ensure hygiene and food safety standards are followed.
- Coordinate with senior chefs during service.
Required profile
- Good understanding of Kerala and Continental cuisine.
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Fluency in Malayalam (mandatory), good English, Hindi preferred.
- Diploma or certificate in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
