CNC Machinist / Machine Operator – Precision Metal Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a CNC Machinist / Machine Operator to join our Mysore competence centre, where high‑performance tungsten and molybdenum wires are produced for automotive, medical, semiconductor, aerospace and other high‑tech sectors. The successful candidate will operate and monitor CNC equipment to deliver precision metal components that meet engineering specifications and on‑time delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines such as VMC, CNC turning, WEDM and turn‑mill centres.
• Load and unload raw material and finished parts safely and efficiently.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and gauges according to SOPs.
• Monitor machining cycles, verify dimensional accuracy and perform in‑process inspections.
• Maintain machine cleanliness, perform preventive maintenance and adhere to safety standards.
• Document production data and contribute to achieving productivity and OTD goals.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• 1–2 years of hands‑on CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of CNC programs and machining parameters.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S and quality management systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and shop‑floor documentation.

Required skills

• CNC machine operation (VMC, CNC turning, WEDM, turn‑mill).
• Engineering drawing interpretation.
• Use of measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Cutting‑tool selection and setup.
• Basic CNC programming knowledge.
