CMS Engineer

About the role

You will analyse vibration data within SkySpecs’ Horizon CMS platform, execute daily alarm management and help onboard new wind turbine sites. Over time you may also be trained to analyse SCADA data as the Horizon CMS software expands to cover both domains.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and diagnose the health of key turbine components such as gearboxes, main bearings and generators to identify potential failures before they occur.
• Improve alarm strategies and threshold configurations based on feedback from operational sites.
• Support data transfer processes and establish monitoring setups for onboarding new sites into the portfolio.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in remote condition monitoring, vibration analysis, or wind turbine performance engineering.
• VCAT‑II Vibration Analysis Category II certification or equivalent expertise.
• Strong understanding of drivetrain failure modes (gearbox, generator, bearing) and root‑cause analysis procedures.
• Experience with vibration analysis software, data acquisition systems and various condition‑monitoring techniques.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Operational experience with wind turbine condition monitoring.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Data Science engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience with condition‑monitoring systems from Brüel & Kjær Vibro, Bachmann or Bently Nevada.
• Proficiency in data‑analysis tools and scripting, e.g., Python and SQL, for SCADA and vibration data automation.
